Special Announcement: 2010 Structures Congress 

2010 STRUCTURES CONGRESS - CALL FOR PROPOSALS

May 12-15, 2010 Orlando, Florida
The Structural Engineering Institute (SEI) of ASCE and the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) are joining forces in 2010 to host the first ever combined Structures Congress/North American Steel Construction Conference (NASCC). Technical programs are being developed for each with close coordination between the program committees.
 
The program of the Structures Congress will provide a forum to advance the art, science and practice of structural engineering. We are currently accepting proposals for complete sessions and individual papers to be presented in the Structures Congress section of the program. Presentations will be selected from the open call and by invitation.

At this event we will also be hosting the 19th Analysis and Computation Specialty Conference. If you are interested in submitting proposals for this event go to the conference website.

Note:
The deadlines and process are different for the 19th A&C Specialty Conference than the Structures Congress.
 
All Proposals are Due June 10, 2009
 
Individual Paper: The proposal should include the title of paper, a 100- 300 word abstract of the paper and a list of all authors include mailing address, company and e-mail.

Session Proposals: The proposal should include the session title and a short description of the session (100-200 word). Be certain to include the name of the session moderator & complete contact information (including e-mail address) as well as the name of the organizing /sponsoring committee (if applicable). Also, list the title of each paper included in the session, authors and author e-mail. Each author in the proposed session must individually upload their abstract and select the proposed sessions from the list during their submission process.

Session formats may include but are not limited to:

  • Moderated speaker sessions (3-4 speakers per session)
  • Panel discussions
  • Open forums
  • Single speaker mini-seminars

Special note: The length of sessions will be either 60 or 90-minutes. Please be certain to indicate a preference in the session proposals.

Allowable file types for uploading: Word 2003(or earlier), rtf. files, txt. Files - Note - PDF files are not allowed.

Key Dates:

  • Session/Abstract submissions Due: June 10, 2009
  • Notification of Acceptance: September 30, 2009
  • All Final Papers Due: January 20, 2010
