Recent legal events affecting eminent domain and condemnation in Texas include the U.S. Supreme Court case Kelo v. New London, the Texas Supreme Court case, Hubenak v. San Jacinto Gas Transmission Company and new eminent domain and condemnation laws enacted by the Texas legislature. "Toll Road Feasibility"

As the traditional method or funding of transportation infrastructure via the gas tax become less effective over time, transportation officials are searching for innovative solutions. One option is toll roads. Toll roads represent a direct user-fee much like any other commodity in the market place. Just like every venture, toll roads and toll road authorities must have a sound business model, and an instrumental element is the toll road feasibility analysis. This presentation will walk through the steps of a toll feasibility analysis including estimating toll revenue potential and the development of operations and maintenance expenses and the capital costs of construction. These are the inputs into a financial model that provides the overall financial feasibility of the toll road project...
