The Engineering, Science, & Technology Council of Houston (ECH) and constituent societies are sponsoring a half-day (morning) Leadership Development Conference on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at the Willow Creek Conference Center, University of Houston – Downtown campus. Cost for the conference is $15/person, which includes breakfast, conference materials and parking.
What is this Leadership Development Conference all about? Strategic Planning for your Organization The purpose of the conference is to enable local science and engineering societies to sharpen the leadership and management skills of their current and future leaders. Participating societies will better identify and achieve their desired long-term goals and provide more value to their members. The conference will include presentations by experienced leaders, case studies from local societies, question-and-answer periods, and networking opportunities.
This conference, the first in a series of semi-annual seminars, will address Strategic Planning and topics such as:
* What goes into a strategic plan?
* How to effectively determine what your members want
* How to formulate a strategic plan
* Learn how other societies define and implement their strategic plan
* How to identify opportunities for your society and intersociety activities
