December 2007 Branch Meeting

Mr. John McClain, of the Houston Chronicle, talks about current Houston happenings and his experiences. John McClain is a Waco native who graduated from Baylor in 1975. He worked for the Waco Tribune Herald under sports editor and Texas Football magazine founder Dave Campbell from 1973 until 1976 when he was hired by the Chronicle to cover the original Houston Aeros hockey team of Gordie, Marty and Mark Howe. In 1977, McClain went to his first Oilers training camp. He covered the Oilers until they moved to Nashville in 1997. He covered the NFL from 1997 through 2004. He has covered the Texans since 2005. This year we are pleased to welcome the Benchmark Quartet! This Acappella group is comprised of four energetic and talented individuals whose commitment to musical excellence is rivaled only by their passion for entertaining.
