Engineer's Day at the Children's Museum On Saturday, February 18th, ASCE Younger Members will help volunteer at the Children's Museum for Engineer Day. Volunteers will have the opportunity to help kids with several different math and science-related activities. All members are welcome to join for this valuable experience. Please contact Natalie Chaney (natalie.chaney@urs.com) with any questions. 2012 E2-Engineering Excellence Competition The E2-Engineering Excellence Competition is looking for judges and general volunteers for preliminary and finals competitions. The E2 Competition is designed to provide elementary through high school students with an opportunity to demonstrate their problem-solving skills, research and presentation skills, and their practical application of math, science and technology. Bowling Night: On Thursday, January 19th, from 5:30 to 7:30 the Younger Members met at 300 Houston Bowling Lanes for an ASCE Bowling Night. Elves and More Bike Build: The Younger Members met on December 10th at Reliant Center to participate in this volunteer event to help area children. PE Preparation Luncheon: The Younger Members met at Terracon on November 9th to learn about getting prepared to write their SER & take the PE exam. Halloween Spooktakular: Sunday, October 23rd seven ASCE members volunteered at the Children's Museum of Houston for their Halloween Spooktacular festivites. President's Message Howdy! Now that the Christmas season is upon us, this is a great time to slow down, spend some time with family, reflect on life's blessings, push the reset button on the last year, and start anew in 2012. It is also time for our December General Meeting, where we feature a general program with a holiday theme. This month we will host Gretchen Sheirr, Vice President of Tickets Sales and Services for your Houston Rockets to talk to us about the business of basketball.
